In this article, you will learn how to create Select custom field options.
There are two methods available for generating options for a select custom field. The first option involves manually creating a list of options by adding them individually. Alternatively, you can streamline the process by uploading a CSV file that contains multiple options simultaneously.
Manual creation of Select Options
- Click the “Create new option” button
- Type the selected option name and click “Save”
You have the flexibility to modify the name or archive any option as needed.
Creation of Select Options through CSV
- Create a CSV file with the selected option names in a single column. The first row of the CSV should be the header with the text "name".
- Go to your Account settings and open Custom fields under the Cost Management section
- Click Edit on the select custom field
- Under Field options, click the Import options from CSV button
- Drag and drop or select the CSV file you have created in the first step
- Click Import options

Below is an example of adding a Custom Field with values related to an employee's department. The column title "name" must be used, do not edit this.
This information will be displayed in the user's profile.
