Prepaid stays: what does it mean?
Some of our stay offers are covered by providers that require prepayment methods. This means that some properties will wait for traveler's check-in to charge it, while others require payment in the booking moment. Prepaid accommodations will prefer to charge the stay earlier.
The payment process and the temporary credit card
TravelPerk cares about providing the easiest experience for the user: also in special cases like these. When the booker selects an offer that requires prepayment, their booking is processed as any other booking, without previous requirements. Your payment is received by TravelPerk and your reservation is guaranteed by us.
TravelPerk will manage this special booking by sending a temporary credit card to be property, in order to complete the payment. In the next days, we will follow up this booking to guarantee a correct charge.
In some cases, you will receive a copy of this temporary credit card to use during your check-in in the stay. We send you this in order to guarantee a proper communication during your trip.
I received a temporary credit card: what should I do with it?
Some hotels may require the traveler to present a credit card in the reception. TravelPerk detects cases like these and sends you an email with the temporary credit card that will help you to confirm your check in.
In case you received email, you must download it and carry it with you during your trip. This will give you autonomy and avoid any possible issue during check in.
Please remember: if you find yourself in this situation and the property requires a credit card to complete your check in, don't use your personal credit card. The temporary credit card provided by TravelPerk is generated for situations like this.
Is my invoice guaranteed?
The accommodation is responsible for generating a correct invoice for you. If your company requires it, you may need to collect the invoice during your stay. As a traveler, remember to mention this request on reception.
Travelperk provides an invoice collection service that your company can request, if needed. With this service, our team will be in charge of chasing invoices from your stays and supervise its quality. Talk with your Account Manager to know how to be part of it.
