Integrate Slack with TravelPerk for trip approvals

• You need a Pro or Premium account to use this feature

With TravelPerk's integration, you can see information about a trip and approve or decline it using Slack.

When a trip needs approval, our integration automatically sends a Slack message to the approver with the request.

The approver can see the trip summary, including dates, travelers, services, policy details, messages and the total price. They can approve and pay or decline the trip directly on Slack. 

The approver can also go to the trip itinerary to check more details and approve the trip.

Note:  Approvers will only receive trip approval requests if their email address is the same on TravelPerk and Slack.

Set up the Slack trip approvals integration

1. Go to Account Settings and click Integrations
   
   
2. Search for the Slack integration and click Set up
3. Enable the integration by clicking Add to Slack
4. Allow permissions to access the Slack workspace - OAuth authorization
5. Once this is done, 2 things can happen:

• • If you're an Admin on TravelPerk and a Workspace Owner or App Manager on Slack, you can complete the integration process yourself. For more details, go to the Authorize the app on Slack section below.
    
    
  • If you're not the Workspace Owner or App Manager on Slack, the integration will remain pending until someone with the right permissions in Slack approves it.

Note: You can disable the integration anytime from the Integrations page by clicking Manage.

Authorize the app on Slack

When setting up the Slack integration from TravelPerk, the Workspace Owner or App Manager for your company's Slack will receive a Slackbot message to approve or restrict the app installation.

They can authorize the app from their Slack app directory.

Only Workspace Owners or App Managers for your company's Slack can authorize installing an app.
