TravelPerk now allows you to approve or decline trips straight from Slack! ✈️ 🏨 🚗 🚂
With the Slack integration, traveler's approvers can get all the trip information at a glance—including policy details—and approve or decline in one tap.
👑 The Slack trip approval requests integration is a Premium feature.
How do Slack approval requests work?
When a trip needs approval, our integration automatically sends a Slack message with the approval request to the traveler’s approver.
They’ll be able to see a summary of the trip (dates, travelers, services, policy details, message, and total amount), then approve and pay—or decline—directly from Slack.
They can also go to the trip itinerary to check more details and still approve from there if they want to.
Important: approvers will only receive trip approval requests if their email address is the same on TravelPerk and Slack.
How can I enable the Slack integration?
You can set up the Slack trip approval requests integration directly from the Integrations page.
This integration is only available for Premium and Pro customers.
Free accounts will also be able to self-onboard to Premium from this page to unlock the feature.
It's as simple as this:
- On the Integrations page, press Set up
- Enable the integration by pressing Add to Slack
- Allow permissions to access the Slack workspace (OAuth authorization)
- Once this is done, two things can happen:
✅ If you're an Admin on TravelPerk and a Workspace Owner or App Manager in your Slack workspace, you'll be able to complete the integration process yourself! Check below how app authorizations work on Slack.
🕔 If you're not the Workspace Owner or App Manager in your Slack workspace, the integration will remain pending until someone with the right permissions in Slack approves it.
Good to know: you can always disable the integration from the Integrations page by pressing Manage.
How do app authorizations work in Slack?
When enabling the Slack integration from TravelPerk, the Workspace Owner or App Managers of your company Slack workspace will receive a Slackbot message in order to approve or restrict the app installation.
They can also do it directly from their Slack app directory, where they can check all apps requested to be installed.
Only Workspace Owners or App Managers in your Slack workspace have permissions to authorize the installation of an app on Slack.
