GreenPerk is TravelPerk's carbon-neutral business travel program. We've partnered with carbon calculation and offset providers to let you compensate your CO₂ emissions directly through our platform. Offsetting happens on a per-trip basis, helping to reduce the carbon footprint of your company's business travel to zero.
As well as this, GreenPerk is an opportunity to gain visibility of your business travel's environmental impact. With our CO₂ emissions dashboard, you can see exactly how much carbon dioxide your business travel is emitting and how much you're offsetting—helping you make more sustainable travel decisions.

How does GreenPerk work?
If you're a TravelPerk customer, you can opt in to offset 100% of the carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions for all of your company’s business trips with GreenPerk. As soon as you join the GreenPerk program, you'll start to contribute to carbon offsetting projects every time you book a trip on TravelPerk.
From the Reporting tab, you'll get access to real-time tracking to let you see how much carbon dioxide your company emits through business travel.
What does carbon neutral mean?
Carbon neutral is a term used to describe the action of organizations, businesses, and individuals taking action to remove as much carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere as they put into it. The goal of carbon neutrality is to achieve a carbon footprint of zero. Businesses that use TravelPerk can make their travel carbon neutral with GreenPerk.
How much does GreenPerk cost?
You pay for GreenPerk on a per-trip basis. On average, just ~0.9% of a trip's total price can offset 100% of its carbon emissions.
How is the cost of GreenPerk calculated?
We charge a fixed price of €10 per CO₂ tonne.
The final cost per trip will always depend on the travel choices for that trip—as trains emit fewer CO₂ emissions than planes, for example.
Let's take a look at an example:
A round-trip flight from London to Barcelona costs €170 and emits 0.36 tonnes of CO₂. A two-night stay in a standard hotel costs €250 and emits 0.029 tonnes. So, given that 1 tonne of CO₂ costs €10, offsetting this trip would cost around €3.89.
Do I need to do the calculations myself?
No, not at all. We automatically calculate the cost of offsetting each trip for you at the checkout, and your company pays for it at the same time as the booking.
Where does the money my company pays for offsetting go?
We work with multiple partners to divide the contributions into different sustainable carbon offsetting projects. Every quarter, we'll report back (with complete transparency) about which projects we've invested in and why—so you know exactly where your money goes.
What travel services can GreenPerk offset emissions for?
With GreenPerk, you can offset CO₂ emissions for anything you book on the TravelPerk platform. That means all your flights, hotels, trains, and cars will be carbon neutral.
Will there be any CO₂ reporting available?
Yes, your company will have access to all of its CO₂ and offset data in the carbon footprint report, found in the Reporting tab. Here you'll see an overview of total emissions, plus detailed breakdowns by services, routes, and countries—insights that can help you spot further sustainability opportunities with regard to business travel. All companies will be able to see actionable data about carbon emissions, even if they're not yet signed up to GreenPerk.
Will my company receive a carbon offsetting certificate?
Every customer who is part of GreenPerk will receive a certificate and badge to show that they're part of our offsetting program. However, this is not an official document or recognized by any environmental body.
Is GreenPerk tax-deductible?
At the moment, contributions through carbon offsetting programs are only tax-deductible in Germany. This is something they are looking at in light of an increasing number of international contributors. For TravelPerk customers, this means that if you have a German subsidiary that can be the official party making the contribution, you would be eligible to receive a receipt for the tax service. If this is the case, please contact james.dent@travelperk.com, until we establish a more formal process for this.
How do I cancel GreenPerk?
If you're an admin, you can cancel your company's participation in the GreenPerk program on the Plans page of your Company settings. Changes will take effect immediately—meaning any trips you book after canceling will no longer be carbon neutral.
