Reserve a train seat

Seats are normally assigned automatically by the train company. You can check your seat on your confirmation email by downloading your PDF ticket.

For some train companies, you can select a specific seat or request your preferred seat.  

Seat selection

During the booking process, if available, you can choose a specific. A seat map with available seats and prices will be displayed for SNCF 1st class fares and Renfe trains, including Avlo.

To select a specific seat:

1. Search for a train
2. On the extras page, click Select selection
3. Select your seat and click Confirm seats
4. Click Add to trip

Seat preferences

If available, you can add your seat preferences during the booking process. We'll provide the train company with your preferences, but your preferred seat is not guaranteed.

To add a seat preference:

1. Search for a train
2. On the extras page, select Request preference
3. Add your preferences and click Request

Deutsche Bahn trains

Seats are not automatically included for Deutsche Bahn trains. You can add a seat reservation when booking a train, but you can't submit a seat preference. 

To add a seat reservation during the booking process:

1. Search for a train
2. On the extras page select Seat reservation
3. Click Add to trip
