Seats are normally assigned automatically by the train company. You can check your seat on your confirmation email by downloading your PDF ticket.

For some train companies, you can select a specific seat or request your preferred seat.  

Seat selection

If available, you can choose a specific seat during the booking process. A seat map with available seats and prices will be displayed for:

• SNCF 1st class fares
• Renfe trains, including Avlo
• Ouigo France Grance Vitesse trains and Ouigo Plus fares

To select a specific seat, follow these steps:

1. Search for a train
2. On the Extras page, click Select selection
3. Select your seat and click Confirm seats
4. Click Add to trip

Seat preferences

If available, you can add your seat preferences during the booking process. We'll provide the train company with your preferences, but your preferred seat is not guaranteed.

To add a seat preference, follow these steps:

1. Search for a train
2. On the Extras page, select Request preference
3. Add your preferences and click Request

Deutsche Bahn trains

Seats are not automatically included for Deutsche Bahn trains. You can add a seat reservation when booking a train, but you can't submit a seat preference. 

To add a seat reservation during the booking process, follow these steps

1. Search for a train
2. On the Extras page, select Seat reservation
3. Click Add to trip
