In June 2018 we introduced a beta version of what we call fare families.
What is a fare family?
A fare family is a group of differently priced fares for the same flight. The differently priced fares give you different benefits.
For example, when you book a flight with EasyJet, you can sometimes choose a Standard ticket or a Flexi ticket. A Flexi ticket with Easyjet can give you extra benefits such as:
- Free changes fees
- Free 23kg hold bag
- Dedicated bag drop
- Speedy Boarding
- Fast Track security (selected airports)
- Unlimited date changes
- Free seat selection
How can I book one?
In this beta, we are displaying an initial selection of fare families. Namely with airlines:
- Norwegian Air
When a flight is available with a different fare (and different benefits), we will display it as another option in your flight results. For example, this is what your flight results from Barcelona to Paris might look like: Next to the cabin class, we display the fare type in brackets. You can simply select the one you want and proceed with booking as you usually would.
Remember: You cannot change or upgrade the type of fare you have bought after it is purchased. So if you want the benefits of a specific fare, it must be selected when your purchase it.
To find out the most up to date information on different fares and what they can offer, it's always best to check the airline website directly.
