An Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is a travel permit that allows certain foreign nationals to visit or pass through the United Kingdom (UK) without a visa.
The ETA can be used to enter the UK for short stays of up to 6 months for tourism, business, study or medical treatment. Having an ETA does not guarantee entry into the UK.
The ETA will replace the single-use Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW).
- Cost: 10 pounds
- Applications: must be completed online - Apply for an electronic travel authorization (ETA)
- Approval timeframe: most ETAs are granted within minutes, but you should apply well in advance in case additional checks are required.
- Validity: 2 years or until the traveler’s passport expires, whichever comes first. It can be used for multiple trips during its validity.
Note: TravelPerk cannot apply or pay for the ETA for you. You must complete this process yourself.
