Direct Billing is one of the payment options available for rental car bookings with TravelPerk. The rental company will bill your company or a specific account directly.
Currently, Direct Billing is only available for Enterprise, National in all countries and Avis in the USA.
For more information about rental car payment options, see Paying for rental cars.
Set up Direct Billing for rental cars
To access Direct Billing for rental cars on TravelPerk, you'll need to take the following steps:
-
Agreement with the rental car company: You'll need to set up a Corporate Rate and Direct Billing agreement with the rental car company. This often involves providing credit or financial references and agreeing on payment terms.
-
Update the car payment preferences: An Admin from your company needs to update the car payment preferences on TravelPerk following the instructions on Change your car payment preferences.
If you have different companies on your TravelPerk account, you can choose which company the Corporate Rate and Billing Number applies to.
If you enable Direct Billing, you'll still see other options for rental cars when searching on TravelPerk. You'll only see Direct Billing offers with the supplier you have the agreement with, but you'll see other offers and payment options with other suppliers.
Invoices and billing
When you pick up a Direct Billing rental car, the rental fees, taxes and insurance are charged directly to the company's account. In most cases, you won't need to provide a credit card.
The rental company invoices your company or deducts the amount from the pre-arranged credit line. This invoice typically includes all related charges extras, tolls and fuel.
These bookings are currently excluded from TravelPerk reporting as you pay for them directly with the rental car company.
