You can pay for rental cars on TravelPerk in 2 ways:
To access pay on arrival rental cars, an Admin needs to update your company's car payment preferences. For instructions, see Change your car payment preferences.
Note: All rental cars require a credit card in the driver's name and a driving license valid in the country where they are renting.
Filter by payment options
When searching for a car, you can filter by payment options.
Both options provide rental cars for the same price, but some companies only offer one payment option.
Pay on arrival
There are 2 different types of pay on arrival bookings:
-
Credit Card: You'll need to pay for the booking with a credit card when you pick up the car. The credit card must be in the main driver's name.
-
Direct Billing: The rental company will bill your company directly. This requires an agreement between your company and the rental company.
For information about Direct Billing, see Set up Direct Billing for rental cars.
For both types of pay on arrival bookings, you still need to select the payment profile and method to pay for Premium or Pro fees and any other bookings or extras on the trip.
Pay on arrival bookings are currently excluded from TravelPerk reporting as you pay for them directly with the rental car company.
Pre-pay
TravelPerk will charge you for the rental car and pay the rental company on your behalf.
There are 2 different types of pre-pay bookings:
-
Partial Credit Vouchers: Any extras or additional costs such as upgraded insurance, refueling service, navigation systems, tolls or fines must be paid for directly with the rental company.
In most cases, you'll be asked to provide a credit card in the main driver's name.
-
Full Credit Vouchers: This payment type requires an agreement between your company and TravelPerk. Any extras or additional costs will be billed to TravelPerk and we will charge your company.
In most cases, you won't need to provide a credit card.
